Abstract: Reports archaeological survey of Qeqertasussuk (1983-1988), identifying and mapping municipality's archaeological remains and cultural heritage. Studies subsistence and subsistence change, using analysis of faunal material consisting of more than 200,000 animal bones. Identifies temporal changes in composition of faunal material indicating significant changes in subsistence: base-camp period I, or pioneer phase (2400-2100 BC), base-camp period II, or period of most intensive use (2100-1900 BC), hunting camp period, with seasonal focus on spring summer hunting for harp seals (1900-1700 BC), and high activity period (1700-1400 BC).
