Abstract: | Examines effect of attack (on unprecedented scale) of mountain pine beetles on several hundred hectares of caribou summer and winter ranges in vicinity of Tweedsmuir Park and adjacent managed forests, considering implication for terrestrial forage lichen abundance, effects on caribou movement (reduced snow-interception, blowdown) and increased forest harvesting outside protected areas for mountain pine beetle salvage. |
