As examples, divides karst development in Arkhangelsk region into four phases, from second half of Neogene to modern period, and demonstrates influence of an ice sheet on karst of Belomorsko-Kuloyskoye plateau. Provides classification of karst relief forms, identifying covered-closed, covered, semi-open, open and uncovered-buttes stages of karst denudation.
