Abstract: Describes how strong and high-level commitments to traditional ecological knowledge made by Aboriginal groups, academics, and governmental and non-governmental organisations involved in natural resource management have led to increased use of traditional ecological knowledge in decision-making process. Examines specific initiatives from northern Canada to illustrate mechanisms by which traditional ecological knowledge is contributing to resource management.
