| Abstract: | Describes equipment setup, survey measurements and preliminary results from summer 2003 survey of 4 km by 4 km area of Mýrdalsjökull. Reports measurement of ice thickness by ground penetrating radar (GPR), stake displacement by GPS, and ablation. Illustrates fieldwork (hampered by heavy crevassing and dirt cones). Presents sample ice displacements and GPR profiles and maps of surface and bed topographies and ice thickness (varying from 112-304 m) |
