Record #175860:

Ocean climate change and Steller sea lion decline / Arthur J. Miller, W. Trites, Herbert D.G. Maschner.

Title: Ocean climate change and Steller sea lion decline / Arthur J. Miller, W. Trites, Herbert D.G. Maschner.
Author(s): Miller, Arthur J.
Trites, W.
Maschner, Herbert D. G.
Date: 2005.
In: Arctic Research of the United States. (2005.), Vol. 19 (2005)
Abstract: Examines possible causes for decline of western Alaskan stock of Steller sea lions. Suggests that various hypotheses for decline - predation, epidemic diseases, nutritional shifts in prey, ocean current changes - are linked through bottom-up processes, and that oceanographic variables can influence survival and distribution of prey, in turn affecting stress levels and susceptibility to disease.
