Structure, stratigraphy and petroleum resource potential of the central Whitehorse Trough, Northern Canada Cordillera / Joseph M. English, Gary G. Johannson, Stephen T. Johnston, Mitchell G. Mihalynuk, Martin Fowler, Kara L. Wight.

In: Bulletin of Canadian Petroleum Geology. (2005.), Vol. 53(2) (2005)
Abstract: Outlines stratigraphy and characterises overall resource potential of central Whitehorse Trough. Strata include carbonate rocks of Upper Triassic Sinwa formation, and interbedded sandstone, siltstone and argillite of Lower Jurassic Inklin Formation. Programmed pyrolysis data indicate that potential source rocks in Inklin Formation are gas-prone and are within oil and gas window. Prospective belt of strata may extend to north-east beneath structurally overlying Cache Creek terrane.
