Abstract: Considers effects of influence of certain aspects of volcanism on prehistoric cultural sequence known from northern segment of Alaska Peninsula, based on examination of radiocarbon measurements relevant to volcanic ash deposits along Brooks River. Includes evidence from Katmai eruption of 1912. Discusses possible subsistence implications of widespread volcanic events.
