Eskimos have CHD despite high consumption of omega-3 fatty acids: the Alaska-Siberia project / Sven O.E. Ebbesson, Patricia M. Risica, Lars O.E. Ebbesson, John M. Kennish.

Title: Eskimos have CHD despite high consumption of omega-3 fatty acids: the Alaska-Siberia project / Sven O.E. Ebbesson, Patricia M. Risica, Lars O.E. Ebbesson, John M. Kennish.

Date: 2005.
In: International Journal of Circumpolar Health. (2005.), Vol. 64(4) (2005)
Abstract: Tests thirty-year-old hypothesis that omega-3 fatty acid may reduce development of thrombosis and atherosclerosis in Western World by examining 454 Alaskan Eskimos for coronary heart disease (CHD) using protocol including ECG, medical history, Rose questionnaire, blood chemistries and food frequency questionnaire assessment of omega-3 fatty acid consumption. Findings reveal no association between current omega-3 fatty acid consumption/blood concentrations and presence of CHD.
