Abstract: Presents GPS observations of ice stream's velocity from 2003 and 2004, showing continuing deceleration at about 0.6%/yr². Extrapolation of trend suggests stagnation some time between middle of 21st and 22nd Centuries. Reviews understanding of ice stream's stick-slip motion, possible mechanism for deceleration as bed strengthens and previously published velocity measurements. Presents and describes collection of new observations. Notes deceleration was faster near grounding line and extends over full width of ice plain.
