Климатический фактор катастрофической подвижки ледника Колка в 2002 году

Title: Климатический фактор катастрофической подвижки ледника Колка в 2002 году
Title, transliterated: Klimaticheskiĭ faktor katastroficheskoĭ podvizhki lednika Kolka v 2002 godu / I.M. Lebedeva, O.V. Rototaeva.
Translated title: Climatic factor of surge of Kolka glacier, Caucasus, 2002.
Author(s): Lebedeva, I. M.
Rototaeva, O. V.
Date: 2005.
Language: Russian.
In: Materialy Gli︠a︡t︠s︡iologicheskikh Issledovaniĭ. (2005.), Vol. 98 (2005)
Abstract: Uses glacier mass balance and climate data to argue unexpected advance of Kolka glacier in 2002 was promoted by basic changes in climate of Caucasian region. Start of 1990s saw sharp change from period of northern meridional atmospheric circulation to one of southern meridional circulation, and unprecedented flow of Mediterranean cyclones bringing steady warming. Discusses effects of summer air temperatures up to 2°C above average and water volumes in glacier basin two times larger. Suggests effect on motion of negative mass balance at end of last decade could have been partially compensated by unusual volume of ice and rock falls into glacier and activity of Kazbek volcano massif.
