Record #174458:

Statistical research of conditions [of] Japan sea ice cover / A.N. Chetyrbotsky.

Title: Statistical research of conditions [of] Japan sea ice cover / A.N. Chetyrbotsky.
Author(s): Chetyrbotsky, A. N.
Chetyrbotskiy, A. N.
Date: 2005.
Publisher: Mombetsu: Okhotsk Sea & Cold Ocean Research Association
In: Proceedings of the 20th International Symposium on Okhotsk Sea and Sea Ice, Mombetsu, Hokkaido, Japan, 20-25 February 2005. (2005.),
Abstract: Analyses multivariate sea ice data set for sea of Japan over period 1961-1989. Using ten-day averaged data, with sea area divided into 114 sites, examines dynamics of and correlations between ice concentration, ice thickness and prevailing floe size. Discusses ice cover formation and decay, reporting that dynamics of concentration has property of convertibility; ice cover thawing can be quantitatively described in terms of ice cover formation. Dynamics of prevailing floe size shares this property, and ice concentration and logarithm of prevailing floe size are strongly correlated.
