Record #174455:

Soil deformation within the seabed due to ice-scouring / Ryo Ishikawa.

Title: Soil deformation within the seabed due to ice-scouring / Ryo Ishikawa.
Author(s): Ishikawa, Ryo.
Date: 2005.
Publisher: Mombetsu: Okhotsk Sea & Cold Ocean Research Association
In: Proceedings of the 20th International Symposium on Okhotsk Sea and Sea Ice, Mombetsu, Hokkaido, Japan, 20-25 February 2005. (2005.),
Abstract: Presents model experiments related to "sub-scour deformation", stress transmission or soil deformation within seabed below sea ice that occurs as deformed sea ice such as ice ridge comes into contact with seabed. Describes use of steel model ice keel in test tank. Finds stress within seabed does not depend on drift speed by on attack angle, and that model ice with smaller attack angle causes deformation over larger area through restriction/compression of large amount of soil in front of inclined ice surface.
