Title: Ecology of introduced reindeer on South Georgia / Nigel Leader-Williams.
Author(s): Leader-Williams, Nigel.
Date: 1980.
Publisher: Cambridge :
Abstract: Re-evaluates population size and status of three reindeer herds on South Georgia. Describes range use and forage selection, and discusses role of feeding ecology in population dynamics. Documents body size and fat reserves, and fecundity rates and causes of mortality, in relation to population dynamics of island population of introduced reindeer, discusses in relation to irruptive oscillation of population, and evaluates differences shown by reindeer on South Georgia and those on other islands.
Notes:

Thesis submitted to the Faculty of Clinical Medicine of the University of Cambridge in supplication for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
