Record #173883:
An alternative method for estimating the level of illegal fishing using simulated scaling methods on detected effort / I. Ball.
Title: | An alternative method for estimating the level of illegal fishing using simulated scaling methods on detected effort / I. Ball. |
Author(s): | Ball, I. |
Date: | 2005. |
In: | CCAMLR Science. (2005.), Vol. 12 (2005) |
Abstract: | Presents new method which allows estimation of illegal fishing even when fishery patrol vessels have no reported observations, and compares with other methods in which calculations based on zero detections produce zero results for illegal fishing. Examines prevention/detection problem related to observer interference in system; and discusses methods for incorporating uncertainty into precautionary estimate of illegal fishing. |
