Date: 2005.
In: SCAR Report. (2005.), Vol. 24 (2005)
Abstract: Sets out proposals for international research initiative to study climate and glacial history of Antarctica through palaeoclimate and ice sheet modelling integrated with the geological record. Themes include ice sheet modelling; coupled ice sheet, climate and ocean modelling; coupled ice sheet and sediment modelling; Eocene-Oligocene events; Oligocene-Miocene boundary Mi-1 glaciation; Middle Miocene record; Pliocene record; Pleistocene glacial cycles and intervals of extreme warmth and cold; last Glacial Cycle and deglaciation; the Holocene; terrestrial landscapes; influence of tectonics on behaviour of the ice sheet; tectonics, climate and the influence of palaeo-seaways; and climatic influences on development of the sedimentary record.
