Reprint of 1872 edition hard back binding in publisher's original aubergine cloth covers, gilt lettering and black and gilt designs to the spine, gilt mountain chalet scene with gilt border decoration to the upper panel, all page edges gilt, original black end papers. 14 single sided full-page and many half and part monochrome illustrations throughout. Small bookplate to the upper paste down.
