Storm-time structure and dynamics of the ionosphere obtained from GPS observations / I.I. Shagimuratov, A. Krankowski, L.W. Baran, J. Cisak, G. Yakimova.

Title: Storm-time structure and dynamics of the ionosphere obtained from GPS observations / I.I. Shagimuratov, A. Krankowski, L.W. Baran, J. Cisak, G. Yakimova.

Date: 2005.
In: SCAR Report. (2005.), Vol. 23 (2005)
Abstract: Presents analyses of structure of ionosphere during geomagnetic storm on 31 March 2001, obtained by multi-station technique using GPS observations. Over Antarctic and Arctic stations diurnal variations of total electron content (TEC) were modified, and ionospheric irregularities developed in auroral region which caused increase in intensity of phase fluctuation of GPS signals. Results demonstrate effect of geophysical conditions, longitude, latitude and time on complex storm patterns.
