Record #173713:
Overview of the research on the atmospheric impact on GPS observation in polar regions / Jan Cisak.
Title: | Overview of the research on the atmospheric impact on GPS observation in polar regions / Jan Cisak. |
Author(s): | Cisak, Jan. |
Date: | 2005. |
In: | SCAR Report. (2005.), Vol. 23 (2005) |
Abstract: | Discusses impact of ionospheric and tropospheric disturbances on quality of GPS observations in Antarctica provided by permanent GPS station arrays. Includes influence of ionosphere over Arctic and Antarctic regions on repeatability of co-ordinates of vectors of different length during quiet and disturbed ionosphere; response of measuring system to ionospheric storms and tropospheric disturbances; variations in vector components from electron concentration in ionosphere, and from total zenith delay, for Antarctic GPS stations. Results show seasonal dependence of height differences between Antarctic stations from changes of atmospheric pressure in troposphere, though no correlation was found between vector components and total zenith delay. |
