Abstract: Discusses use of Global Positioning System (GPS) radio signals to monitor ionospheric irregularities in high-latitude region, using dual-frequency GPS data obtained from mid-latitude Australian and sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island permanent GPS stations to detect large scale travelling ionospheric disturbances and auroral scintillations during magnetic storm period in early November 1997.
