Record #173522:

Scintillation and TEC study of the high-latitude ionosphere over Casey station, Antarctica / N.M. Shilo, E.A. Essex, A.M. Breed.

Title: Scintillation and TEC study of the high-latitude ionosphere over Casey station, Antarctica / N.M. Shilo, E.A. Essex, A.M. Breed.
Author(s): Shilo, N. M.
Essex, E. A.
Breed, A. M.
Date: 2001.
Publisher: Canberra: Australian Goverment Publishing Service
In: Australian solar terrestrial and space physics research. (2001.),
Abstract: Describes time variations in phase amplitude and angle-of-arrival of radio waves propagating through ionospheric medium due to diffraction caused by irregularities in motion relative to ray path. Measurements were made at Casey station during 1997-98 summer season using GPS Ionospheric Scintillation Monitor (GISM), in conjunction with 1998 Total Electron Content (TEC) data from Casey, Davis and Mawson stations, and sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island. Results are used to investigate diurnal and seasonal variations in TEC; patch occurrences; and scintillation activity associated with polar cusp and auroral oval.
