Abstract: Examines affinities of Birnirk, Thule and recent Inuit skeletal samples to address contribution of Palaeo-Eskimos to Inuit ancestry, given lack of Dorset remains for direct comparison. Suggests predominantly Palaeoarctic genetic heritage of Inuit derived from both Dorset and Thule, based on 26 nonmetric traits calculated for 53 samples.
