Record #173499:

Radar interferometry and its application to changes in the earth's surface / Didier Massonnet, Kurt L. Feigl.

Title: Radar interferometry and its application to changes in the earth's surface / Didier Massonnet, Kurt L. Feigl.
Author(s): Massonnet, Didier.
Feigl, Kurt L.
Date: 1998.
In: Reviews of Geophysics. (1998.), Vol. 36(4) (1998)
Abstract: Reviews use of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) from space for monitoring vertical motions of earth's surface. Describes principles of aperture synthesis, radar phase and interferometry and discusses processing techniques and applications within earth sciences. Describes contributions to interferometric phase from orbital trajectories, surface topography and surface displacement, limits to technique, interferogram production and interpretation. Examples mainly from observation of earthquakes, and glaciological applications to Rutford Ice Stream, Antarctica, Spitsbergen glaciers, and Baltic sea ice. Includes glossary.
