| Abstract: | Analyzes records of active-layer thickness (ALT) from Calypsostranda area from 1986-2002 period, aiming to determine depth and rate of summer thawing and explain reasons for local differences. Presents meteorological records and measurements of ALT, rate of thawing, and landscape and vegetation type. Finds moisture content, vegetation cover, and slope aspect important determinants of ALT and its local variability. |
