| Abstract: | Obtains functional dependences between geometrical parameters of avalanches (deposition volume, thickness and area) on basis of comparing parameters with analogous ones for model avalanches. Conducts avalanche modelling at scale using path geometrically similar to real avalanche paths: "Domashniy" in Elbrus region (scale 1:2500), and path No. 22 in Khibiny (scale 1:2000). Uses wheat flour, wood flour, sand, and glass beads up to 1 mm diameter, as model substances. Compares cut-off zones and deposition forms of model and real avalanches. Discusses modelling as safe alternative to direct measurements in avalanche zones. |
