Record #173240:

Voles, lemmings and caribou - population cycles revisited? / Anne Gunn.

Title: Voles, lemmings and caribou - population cycles revisited? / Anne Gunn.
Author(s): Gunn, Anne.
Date: 2003.
In: Rangifer. (2003.), Special issue No. 14 (2003)
Abstract: Summarizes information on caribou abundance across North America and Greenland over centuries to see if it reveals hints on mechanisms underlying fluctuations in abundance. Makes comparisons with other mammalian herbivores. States that mechanisms underlying cyclic abundance of these species may be applicable to understanding caribou fluctuations. Considers relation between climate variability and population fluctuations.
Notes:

Rangifer. Special issue No. 14 :105-111 (2003).

In special issue Proceedings of the Ninth North American Caribou Workshop, Kuujjuaq, Quebec, Canada, 23-27 April, 2001.
