Abstract: Discusses taxonomic history of fulmar prions on sub-Antarctic Auckland and Heard Islands, and outlines why Pachyptila crassirostris eatoni is not an available name for proposed new subspecies of fulmar prions Pachyptila crassirostris flemingi, which has less than 1,000 pairs breeding at Auckland Islands, and 1,000-10,000 on Heard Island.
