Record #173158:

The distribution of seabirds on Alaskan longline fishing grounds: 2002 data report / Ed Melvin, Kim Dietrich, Kelly Van Wormer, Tracee Geernaert.

Title: The distribution of seabirds on Alaskan longline fishing grounds: 2002 data report / Ed Melvin, Kim Dietrich, Kelly Van Wormer, Tracee Geernaert.
Author(s): Melvin, Ed.
Dietrich, Kim.
Van Wormer, Kelly.
Geernaert, Tracee.
Date: 2004.
Publisher: Seattle, WA: Washington Sea Grant Program
Abstract: Reports and analyses sea bird data collected during four longline stock assessment surveys in 2002. Finds that albatrosses, petrels and shearwaters are rare to absent in inside waters of Alaska from June-August. Suggests that data could be used to delineate areas where sea birds are at risk from longline fisheries and where mitigation measures are necessary.
