Abstract: Contains information on 780 glaciers from 26 countries, including Antarctica. Presents mainly field data, but includes high-precision maps and summary references to numerical modelling and satellite-based glacier inventory work. Sections cover: general information on observed glaciers; variations in glacier front positions; mass balance study results; changes in area, volume and thickness. Annexed maps with accompanying text include four from Antarctica, six from Austria (series of five, 1950-2000, from Waxeggkees), two each from Italy and Tajikistan, and one each from Chile, Mexico, Kazakhstan and Uganda.
