Date: 2004.
In: Marine Ornithology. (2004.), Vol. 32(1) (2004)
Abstract: Describes three southern giant petrels found dead on Dewart Island in Frazier Islands near Casey station, Antarctica, near southerly limit of breeding range, in 1994 and 1998. Birds had totally depleted fat and protein reserves, but had continued to brood eggs. Discusses possible role of increased precipitation in Casey area in snow-related mortality of incubating birds.
