| Abstract: | Reviews century of glaciological/geological investigations on Mount Kenya, which contains record of Quaternary events reaching back to Plio-Pleistocene boundary 2.47 Ma BP. Presents chronology, summarizes evidence from pre-Weichselian glaciations (Gorges, Lake Ellis, Naro Moru and Teleki) and discusses Last (Liki) Glacial in more detail. Two neoglacial advances are known, but onset is difficult to date. Complementary digital maps on CD included with volume. |
