Математическое моделирование тепломассобмена в снежном покрове при таянии

Title: Математическое моделирование тепломассобмена в снежном покрове при таянии
Title, transliterated: Matematicheskoe modelirovanie teplomassobmena v snezhnom pokrove pri tai︠a︡nii / V.M. Kotli︠a︡kov, N.I. Osokin, A.V. Sosnovskiĭ.
Translated title: Mathematical modelling of heat and mass exchange in snow cover during melting.
Author(s): Kotli︠a︡kov, V. M.
Osokin, N. I.
Sosnovskiĭ, A. V.
Date: 2004.
Language: Russian.
In: Kriosfera Zemli. (2004.), Vol. 8(1) (2004)
Abstract: Describes mathematical model and numerical experiments for snow cover melting, filtration of thawed snow and change of snow structure when ice layers form. Joint model of heat and mass transfer describes mutual influences of change of snow temperature, water vapour diffusion and filtration of thawed snow. Estimates dynamics of snow cover density in different layers caused by thawed snow freezing on ice crystals. Determines quantity of frozen water and intensity of heat emission during freezing using equation of heat exchange between ice grains and filtered water, taking into account change in ice crystal surface form. Calculations show snow temperature at boundary of filtration and directly behind it (1-3 cm) can be negative, -0.1 to -0.2°C. Attributes this to small value of heat exchange between filtered water and ice grains at this temperature.
