| Abstract: | Presents meteorological observations on maritime Koryto glacier, from summer 2000. Uses these to clarify heat balance characteristics on glacier surface and compares with other maritime glaciers. Uses air temperature and global radiation data as inputs to empirical model to estimate hourly changes in spatial distribution of ablation. Evaluates this distributed radiation and temperature index (RT) model for Koryto glacier by comparison with degree-day and heat balance methods and with distributed temperature index model of Hock. |
