Record #172250:

Comsmogenic ¹⁰Be ages on the Pomeranian Moraine, Poland / Vincent R. Rinterknech, and 6 others.

Title: Comsmogenic ¹⁰Be ages on the Pomeranian Moraine, Poland / Vincent R. Rinterknech, and 6 others.
Author(s): Rinterknech, Vincent R.
Date: 2005.
In: Boreas. (2005.), Vol. 34(2) (2005)
Abstract: Presents 37 ¹⁰Be ages that provide first direct dating of Pomeranian Moraine, a prominent recessional moraine deposited in northern Poland following last maximum extent of Scandinavian ice sheet (SIS). Describes setting, sampling strategy and methodology, discussing corrections for uplift, topographic shielding, vegetation and intermittent snow cover. Results indicate mean age of 14.8 ± 0.4 ¹⁰Be ka for final deposition of moraine, suggesting southern margin of SIS was near maximum extent later than previously inferred, with retreat probably occurring in response to onset of Bølling interstade.
