Record #172248:

Fluctuations of the Deming Glacier and theoretical equilibrium line altitudes during the Late Pleistocene and Early Holocene on Mount Baker, Washington, USA / Dori J. Kovanen, Olav Slaymaker.

Title: Fluctuations of the Deming Glacier and theoretical equilibrium line altitudes during the Late Pleistocene and Early Holocene on Mount Baker, Washington, USA / Dori J. Kovanen, Olav Slaymaker.
Author(s): Kovanen, Dori J.
Slaymaker, Olav.
Date: 2005.
In: Boreas. (2005.), Vol. 34(2) (2005)
Abstract: Applies two different indirect analytical methods (accumulation area ratio and ablation-accumulation balance ratio) to reconstruct equilibrium line altitudes (ELAs) and estimate ELA lowering of Deming glacier at end of last glaciation. Applies regression analysis to examine palaeoclimate change in area. moraine ages. Discusses glaciation threshold, theoretical ELAs (obtaining depression relative to modern of 400-355 m), palaeoenvironmental reconstruction, and glacial fluctuations during Younger Dryas and Holocene.
