Mid-Holocene Littorina transgressions based on stratigraphic studies in coastal lakes of NW Russia / Per Sandgren, Dmitry A. Subetto, Björn E. Berglund, Natalia N. Davydova, Larissa A. Savelieva.

Title: Mid-Holocene Littorina transgressions based on stratigraphic studies in coastal lakes of NW Russia / Per Sandgren, Dmitry A. Subetto, Björn E. Berglund, Natalia N. Davydova, Larissa A. Savelieva.
Author(s): Sandgren, Per.

Date: 2004.
In: GFF. (2004.), Vol. 126(4) (2004)
Abstract: Studies sediment cores from four lakes within same drainage system. Applies complementary parameters to identify water-level changes. Compiles chronological models based on AMS radiocarbon dating. Finds that present-day lakes were in contact with Littorina Sea during Mid-Holocene and brackish conditions prevailed, and also that water level was higher. Study area is located c. 100 km west of St Petersburg.
