Record #172221:

Central Arctic caribou and petroleum development: distributional, nutritional, and reproductive implications / Raymond D. Cameron, Walter T. Smith, Brad Griffith.

Title: Central Arctic caribou and petroleum development: distributional, nutritional, and reproductive implications / Raymond D. Cameron, Walter T. Smith, Brad Griffith.
Author(s): Cameron, Raymond D.
Smith, Walter T.
Griffith, Brad.
Date: 2005.
In: Arctic. (2005.), Vol. 58(1) (2005)
Abstract: Synthesis of research findings on effects of petroleum development on caribou (Rangifer tarandus granti). Female caribou exposed to development west of Sagavanirtok River may experience lower energy balance during midsummer and consume less forage during calving period than those free from disturbance east of river, shown by poorer body condition and lower parturition rates.
