| Abstract: | Based on fieldwork data collected in 1995-96, analyses clan structure of Taz Nentsy in Yamalo-Nenetskiy Avtonomnyy Okrug. Their economy is still based on reindeer herding, hunting and fishing. Clan structure of Nentsy also incorporates other clans such as Entsy and Khanty. Outlines history of Enets and Nentsy clans which migrated to Taz region during 17th century. |
