Record #172201:

Snow-cover on the Cumbrian mountains / Peter Johnson.

Title: Snow-cover on the Cumbrian mountains / Peter Johnson.
Author(s): Johnson, Peter.
Date: 2004.
In: Weather. (2004.), Vol. 60(5) (2004)
Abstract: Presents detailed observations of snow cover on Cumbrian mountains (principally Fairfield) over period 1995-2003 and collates information from last 200 years. Compares snow cover records with Central England Temperature and historical record. Discusses historical accounts of snow persisting into and perhaps through summer. Makes no climatic inference from recent trend, but suggests reduction of snow cover from early 1880s to 1995/6.
