Record #172191:

A study on heat storage and recovery for cooling with frozen soil / Keiji Matsuoka, Takahiro Ohrai.

Title: A study on heat storage and recovery for cooling with frozen soil / Keiji Matsuoka, Takahiro Ohrai.
Author(s): Matsuoka, Keiji.
Ohrai, Takahiro.
Date: 2004.
Language: Japanese.
In: Seppyo : Journal of the Japanese Society of Snow and Ice. (2004.), Vol. 66(2) (2004)
Abstract: Examines use of soil frozen in winter for cooling in summer. Note effectiveness of soil freezing by refrigerator in winter due to higher performance coefficient than in summer. Describes simulation analysis of repeated heat storage and recovery over three years with practical model. With group of cooling pipes installed, heat recovery efficiency while heat is used for cooling becomes over 80% in second year. Estimates effective cooling temperature by refrigerator and studies soil freezing by cold winter air and heat pipes only, without refrigerator.
