Reindrift, omstilling og identitet / Einar Bergland.

Title: Reindrift, omstilling og identitet / Einar Bergland.
Translated title: Reindeer herding, readjustment and identity.
Author(s): Bergland, Einar.
Date: 2005.
Language: Norwegian.
In: Diedhut. (2005.), Vol. 1 (2005)
Abstract: Reports that middle-aged nomads who give up herding dislike readjustment, and return to herding, but must start afresh in occupation that has changed. Older herders who give up entirely regret it, living on memories, and lose contact with way of life, even if they have food reindeer and access to mountains. They have become pensioners. Older nomad Saami who pass on herding to their children keep their identity and move between home and pastures much as before. Philosophically-based study is intended to help plan for those retiring.
