Abstract: | Author began study in 2001 for Institute for Eskimology, when c. 500 young Greenlanders were in Denmark, half for education or training. Three Inuit concepts of upbringing are explained, with their consequences for study, especially abroad and in foreign language. Author would like to see feelings of Greenlandness less tied to language, with examples from Canada and Alaska. |
