Record #171569:

Christian Ledens kreative filmoptagelser i Østgrønland / Inge Kleivan.

Title: Christian Ledens kreative filmoptagelser i Østgrønland / Inge Kleivan.
Translated title: Christian Leden's creative filming in East Greenland.
Author(s): Kleivan, Inge.
Date: 2004.
Language: Danish.
In: Grønland. (2004.), Vol. 52(1-2) (2004)
Abstract: Birket-Smith described Norwegian Leden as "swindler" because he used various camera tricks to improve or complete his photographs. He was in Ammassalik in 1910 and 1926, and his photographs were first from that side, though not first of Greenland. Danish commentators criticised Leden's portrait of totally primitive Easterners and murder scene. Conflict with Norway over east coast fishery also entered dispute. Author holds that Leden's output still has value as ethnological material.
