Record #171502:

Sediment properties of glacial till deposited since the Little Ice Age maximum for selected glaciers at Svartisen and Okstindan, northern Norway / Stephen D. Gurney, Kevin White.

Title: Sediment properties of glacial till deposited since the Little Ice Age maximum for selected glaciers at Svartisen and Okstindan, northern Norway / Stephen D. Gurney, Kevin White.
Author(s): Gurney, Stephen D.
White, Kevin.
Date: 2005.
In: Boreas. (2005.), Vol. 34(1) (2005)
Abstract: Magnetic properties of till samples were analysed, to measure aerial exposure. Trends were strong enough to suggest use of method to reconstruct glacial retreat where traditional methods such as lichenometry are not available.
Notes:

Boreas. Vol. 34(1) :75-83 (2005).

Keywords: 550.382.3 -- Rocks and minerals, magnetic properties.
551.311.23 -- Weathering.
551.324.63 -- Land ice, advance and retreat.
551.332.212 -- Till or boulder clay.
E5 -- Glaciology: land ice.
(*3) -- Arctic regions.
(*586) -- Nordland.
