Title: | A white-capped albatross, Thalassarche [cauta] steadi, at South Georgia: first confirmed record in the south-western Atlantic / Ben Phalan, Richard A. Phillips, Michael C. Double. |
Author(s): | Phalan, Ben. Phillips, Richard A. Double, Michael C. |
Date: | 2004. |
In: | Emu. (2004.), Vol. 104(4) (2004) |
Abstract: | Reports presence during two seasons, 2003 and 2004, of albatross species usually confined to sub-Antarctic Auckland and Antipodes Islands. Discusses biological significance of diminished phiopatry of small number of emigrant birds, with particular reference to potential for expansion of ranges of species, and initiation of rapid speciation events. |
