Record #171154:

An investigation of anthropogenic contamination from the British Antarctic research station, Rothera / Maeve Carroll Lohan.

Title: An investigation of anthropogenic contamination from the British Antarctic research station, Rothera / Maeve Carroll Lohan.
Author(s): Lohan, Maeve Carroll.
Date: 1999.
Abstract: Examines distributions of trace metal concentrations of zinc, iron, copper, manganese, nickel, chromium, cadmium and lead in soft tissues of Antarctic soft-shelled clam Laternula elliptica collected from waters near Rothera station during austral summer 1998-99. Results suggest that Laternula elliptica can be used as suitable biomonitor for long-term monitoring of heavy metal contamination in Antarctic coastal waters.
Notes:

Unpublished dissertation for M.Sc. in Oceanography, School of Ocean and Earth Science, University of Southampton.
