| Abstract: | Describes project using mesospheric micro rockets to measure temperature and winds in lower thermosphere, mesosphere and stratosphere above surface of Antarctica, as part of international collaboration studying difference between thermal structure of northern and southern polar mesosphere. Identifies possible environmental impacts, including blast protection and launching facility; noise during launching; atmospheric emissions from rocket fuel propellant and combustion products; solid debris; and hazardous wastes and materials. |
