Record #171114:
Late glacial and Holocene glacier and vegetation fluctuations at Little Swift Lake, soutwestern Alaska, U.S.A. / Yarrow Axford, Darrell S. Kaufman.
Title: | Late glacial and Holocene glacier and vegetation fluctuations at Little Swift Lake, soutwestern Alaska, U.S.A. / Yarrow Axford, Darrell S. Kaufman. |

Date: | 2004. |
In: | Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2004.), Vol. 36(2) (2004) |
Abstract: | Complex spatial and temporal patterns of late glacial and Holocene environmental change in Alaska show importance of local- and regional-scale factors, particularly moisture availability, in modulation of site-specific response to climate forcing. Sedimentological changes in lake record at Little Swift Lake provide evidence for vegetation change in Betula, Alnus and Cyperaceae species following glacier retreat. |
