Title: Comparison of new particle formation events at two locations in northern Finland / Mika Komppula, Miikka Dal Maso, Heikki Lihavainen, Pasi P. Aalto, Markku Kulmala, Yrjö Viisanen.
Author(s): Komppula, Mika.

Date: 2003.
In: Boreal Environment Research. (2003.), Vol. 8(4) (2003)
Abstract: From April 2000 to December 2001, measurements of aerosol particle distributions were made at Pallas (western Lapland) and Värrió (eastern) stations. Trajectories, trace gas concentrations and weather parameters were examined to find reasons for differences. Most were air masses of different sources or rain/fog at one station. Distance from Kola Peninsula meant far less SO₂ pollution at Pallas. Air at Pallas also tended to come from higher, cleaner levels.
