Record #171060:

Horizons of sustainability in Greenland: Inuit landscapes of memory and vision / Frank Sejersen.

Title: Horizons of sustainability in Greenland: Inuit landscapes of memory and vision / Frank Sejersen.
Author(s): Sejersen, Frank.
Date: 2004.
In: Arctic Anthropology. (2004.), Vol. 41(1) (2004)
Abstract: Concern with locality is helping to frame political use of local knowledge. Article examines conflicts in Sisimiut over reindeer hunting and use of dog sledge versus snowmobile - one day's travel on one equivalent to one hour's on other. Hunting raised issues of licence "lottery" and misuse. Snowmobiles were, in theory, eventually limited to fixed areas.
